Beer. There really is no substitute. Honest.
If you grew up like me, you probably experienced the “Bitter Beer Face” tasting that first beer as a teenager. And the ONLY reason I reached in the beer cooler and tasted this particular beer was for one thing and one thing only: Advertising.
Rainier Beer (the beer label name and design was from Mt. Rainier) was local brew. Very light yet had a “kick” to it. Back in the 70’s they did a series of bizarre advertising that made EVERYONE stop and watch. You’ve probably seen or heard about them, especially the one with the “herd of bottles” being chased by “hunters with large bottle openers”.
Awesome.
In that spirit, our beer site on The Frugal Connoisseurs is dedicated to the fun and the bizarre aspects of beer (and a glimpse of Sam Adams $100/24oz copper bottle).
We’ve got recipes, beer taps, as well as series of videos on making beer which is located on our social network My Beer Site. We want to cater to the home beer brewing crowd with a crossover into the micro-brew and draft beer crowd.
So take a look around, buy a few beer glasses, or beer gift your buddy with a beer of the month membership, or look for our tips on bottle-capping those beer bottles and converting your old refrigerator into a beer dispenser (the keginator)
And if you dream of large bottles of beer running through the wilderness, you should seek professional help.
Until the next beer,
Jerry
